The Fritz-X is a German guided anti-shipping bomb from WW-II in service 1943 to 1944. The bomb was dropped by aircraft and guided to the target by an operator in the release aircraft. A flare at the rear of the bomb allowed the operator to see the bomb during its drop and guide it to the target by radio signals. Intended targets were heavily armored warships.
